PPP-P rejects imposition of advance income tax through ordinance

Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarian (PPP-P) Central Information Secretary Shazia Murree Sunday rejected the government’s decision to impose five to 35 per cent advance income tax on the electricity bills through a presidential ordinance.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, the Member National Assembly Shazia Ata Murree in a statement strongly condemned the government’s announcement to impose the taxes.

She said that that the poor people in the country were already suffering from indirect taxes, inflation and unemployment.

She said people were worried about the incompetent government due to unannounced power outages, severe gas crisis and water shortage.
